The new maps for Call of Duty are rich, excellent, and fun. They’re not universally loved: some people find Chinatown too tight, but there are so many multistory buildings that it has a lot of variety. I’ve heard some complain that Creek takes forever to cross, but it’s a great mix of snipey and sneaky. Broadcast has a good mix of open space and tight CQ.

However, the map pack was so popular that Xbox Live Marketplace was completely borked for hours on Friday, a universally frustrating experience for everyone. At $10 per player, with over a million players per day, it’s going to turn into a good chunk of coin for Infinity Ward. Perhaps they’ll invest some of that in making the next release easier to download.

Looking forward to playing some more Team Objective later tonight!
