Founders Wet-Hopped Harvest Ale

My beer guy Justin set some of this aside for me after we bonded over this year’s Sierra Nevada Harvest Ale. Coming straight at you from the unlikely beer mecca of Grand Rapids, MI, this limited ale is made with freshly-harvested hops, and it is amazing!

It’s a light golden copper in color with a light head. The floral notes in the beer’s delicious smell come from the fresh, un-aged hops, with a little grapefruit and hints of pine. You can almost imagine that you’re holding the hops themselves.

The taste is creamy but not overly malty; the hops are rich but subtle; not at all bitter.

Highly recommended, if you can get your hands on some this week.
