WD Scorpio 250GB laptop hard drive - $140 →
I finally got around to installing the bigger hard drive in my MacBook Pro. The install went smoothly, and not only is this thing 2.5x bigger than the original, but it’s also a bit faster.
So far it has been extremely quiet and cool, but I haven’t really pushed it yet.
For $140, there’s essentially no trade-off here. Just more space for iTunes.
AppleTV Take Two
My Apple TV was powered off for the last six months, mostly because it is not better for watching video than my FiOS DVR. The Motorola-based FiOS box has a frustrating user experience (long response lags) but there’s an awful lot of TV shows and movies available on demand, already covered by our (admittedly quite high) monthly charge.
